Well mammogram done. No breast cancer

Mom is doing good, her knee's are just about healed. Now we are thinking of putting cushioning around her. She goes in soon for her mammogram. Will keep all updated.

Well small change mom did not come home today. Seems that she was trying to convince them she was going home today. Almost forgot she had a catscan last week. Doesn't look good lesions on her liver are getting darker and he sees spots in her right breast. He says not sure if breast cancer but having a mammo to be sure and a pepscan also that will tell if the the spots are just spots or cancer

Mom has been in hospital since monday afternoon. She wasnt getting rid of the c02 but she is on her way home today.

Once again I'm lacking on updating my mothers blog. Mom has been out of the hospital for weeks now and is doing great as can be. SHE had turned herself into a klutz. Last Wednesday we went up to Melody's and she was rushing and fell and sliced up her NEW knee pretty good and her hand and broke her toe. Shes doing OK.

Once or twice a week a nurse comes in and checks on here and changes any bandaging from any accidents she has had in the past week :). She also has a occupational and Physical Therapist come in twice a week to help here. NOT sure if its helping but it's at least getting her moving and such. She is still using the walker but does seem to be walking much better.

ME I'm trying to help out around the house as I can to help here when I am home.

I am sorry I am behind on posting updates. Mom has been in the Hospital since A week ago Sunday July 5. She wasn't feeling to good plus she had fallen a few times on her Right knee so it was hurting real bad so she had my father take her to the emergency room.

her knee is not broken she has/had a small touch of Pneumonia and a staff infection on her lower Right leg which looks a heck of alot better. She is in Isolation of sorts cause of a nasal swab coming up positive for Mersa ( a infectious Staff infection) but shes taking the meds and is doing good.

Shell hopefully be home soon. Tho she may have a new breathing machine when she gets home seems (I believe cause of the pneumonia) she isn't exhaling all the co2 out of her blood so they been hooking her up to this contraption that covers her face and forces the oxygen in and all. she may need to have it here at night while she sleeps. That we will find out maybe today cause they were doing the study on her last night on it.

Well she is home arrived here no more then 10 minutes ago and headed for the sink to wash here Hair. (they never do a good job in the homes).



She has her Therapy instructions that's she WILL follow if it kills us. As I stated before gone is the Wheel Chair. She is to walk where ever she needs to get to.



Now comes the settling in and rest before heading up to Mels.






But she is Home. NOW HER FUN BEGINS BECAUSE WE WILL NOT LET HER GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING BUT WHAT SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING.

Now the FUN Begins.
ON Monday the 23rd the staples come out. On Tuesday February 24 MOM will be coming Home. NOT a home she is used to GONE will be the wheel Chair (WHICH her therapist says SHE is not to USE) She will be walking around the House with at least twice a day with her sitting or laying down with her leg elevated.

Wednesday the Social worker comes. Then once the 6 weeks (which is now only 4 wks to go) is up then the therapy to start bending the knee starts.

Ok all we need to bombard her to NOT be lazy, TO do her therapy. Is everyone with me ?? ................................... :( I don't hear anything. :)

MOM IS DOING GOOD. LITTLE BORED IN THE REHAB AND IS TRYING EVERYTHING SHE CAN THINK OF TO CON US TO GET HOME. :) IT'S NOT WORKING.

TODAY WASN'T A GOOD DAY WELL PARTIALLY. A CNA HELPING HER ROOMMATE THE WASHROOM LEFT SOME WATER ON THE FLOOR. JUST BEFORE LUNCH MOM WENT IN TO USE THE WASHROOM. WELL SHE SLIPPED ON THE WATER CAUGHT HERSELF BUT IN THE MID CATCH TWISTED THE WRONG KNEE.

IT IS SWOLLEN AND THEY DID TAKE A X-RAY TO SEE IF ANYTHING HAPPENED. HOPEFULLY NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO THE KNEE CAP THAT THEY HAVE TO GO BACK IN AND RESET IT.

AND LITTLE OTHER INCIDENTS TODAY THAT REALLY DID NOT HAPPEN TO HER BUT PISSED ME OFF. BUT ALL WAS TAKEN CARE OFF AND HOPEFULLY WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN.

WELL TODAY SHES BEEN UP AND WALKING AROUND ON HERE OWN RATHER GOOD.

TONIGHT THEY MOVED HER SHE IS NO LONGER AT ALEXIAN BROTHERS HOSPITAL SHE IS NOW AT THE NURSING/REHABILITATION CENTER AND ITS ACTUALLY A NICE ONE.

WELL MOM IS DOING GOOD. SHE IS STILL IN THE HOSPITAL WAITING TO BE MOVED ACROSS THE STREET TO THE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL.

THOUGHT SHE WON'T BE ABLE TO MOVE HER KNEE FOR 6 WEEKS THEY WILL GET HER DOING SOMETHING.

WELL TODAY WAS THE DAY UP AT 4AM OUT THE DOOR AT 5AM AND SIT IN WAITING ROOM UNTIL NOON.

MOM WAS JUST A TEENY BIT NERVOUS. (THATS AN UNDERSTATMENT) GOT INTO POST OP AND WAS OUT LIKE A LIGHT BEFORE WE WALKED BACK THERE. SURGERY LAST JUST A BIT OVER ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES. I HAD JUST FINISHED TELLIN MY DAD I WONDER HOW MANY TIMES SHES BI***ED HIM OUT AND THE DOCTOR WALKS UP. ALL WENT WELL. SHE WAS AWAKE AND TALKING THE WHOLE TIME (CAN YOU TELL SHE WAS NERVOUS) HE FINALLY HAD TO GIVE HER A VALIUM TO CALM HER D OWN.. SHE DOESN'T REMEMBER TALKING SHE THINKS SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE THING.

SHE WAS IN RECOVERY TWICE AS LONG AS THE SURGERY. UP INTO HER ROOM ABOUT 12:45 PM AND EATING. DOCTOR SAYS HER LEG WILL BE IMMOBILIZED FOR 6 WEEKS NO BENDING SO THE KNEE CAP CAN HEAL AFTER THAT SHE WILL BE WALKING LIKE NORMAL.

WELL THE GOOD NEWS IS FEBRUARY 3RD. IS THE DAY. THE DAY MOM GOES AND HAS HER KNEE COMPLETELY DONE. THEY ARE GOING TO FIX HER SHATTERED KNEE CAP AND DO THE KNEE REPLACEMENT ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

Well this update is a GREAT one. Mom has been given the ok for the knee surgery for fixin the Knee cap and knee replacement.

Everything else is looking good to.

My aplogizes for not updating this sooner.

Regarding mom and Her knee replacement. NOPE never happened the week before she was to have it she twisted her knee a little and broke her Knee cap in half. well going to the doc they said that they would have to go in and fuse the Knee cap together wait for that to heal in order to do the Knee Replacement. THEN cam our reg doc. now this doc is also mine so WHEN I DO SEE her I am going to have a little heart to heart talk with her. I know she is looking out for mom but SHES the one that said NO she cant have any surgeries. NOW two doctors said as long as it was an epidural (sorry if that's spelled wrong) she can have it done. WELL miss doc did her thing and got the other docs to side with her even though they still say if she wants it, which she does.

So for now she has a walking brace on her left leg and using a wheel chair around the house. We are going to work our damnedest to get this op. she wants it.

Well Mom will be back in the Hospital on Sept 6th, but this time not Lutheran General she will be in Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove. SHES finally having her left knee replaced. Shes been using my grandmothers walker for the last week or two because of her knee hurting really bad. So they finally convinced her. SHE will be awake (:( IM NOT EVEN THINKING OF what shes going to hear. ) She will be given a epidural.


Will keep all updated as all happends.


Mom was terrific two weeks ago for me. when I went into the hospital for my thyroidectomy she took me the hospital at 530 am and stayed until I got to my room. wat a trooper'

Please Excuse me as I should have posted this last friday.

Well the Doctor called. GOOD NEWS. The specs they saw on the one film and thought that the cancer had come back in her liver and the spot on her esophagus is gone again so they believe it could just be residual of something of something on the film.. THIS time the scan came back CLEAN. He sounded really happy though he did not mention the spots on the liver but we assuming the way he was talking that they are gone to.

SO as of NOW Shes cancer free Lets pray and hope it stays that way.

Her lungs on the other hand isn't improving which we new wouldn't cause of how bad the damage is FROM ALL THE YEARS OF SMOKING. (If any of you are smokers I hope your catching my meaning between the lines...... J and M....)

well that's it for now will keep you all up to date as soon as we know anything.
